Recording the things we love adds vibrant energy to daily life, and these records can open up new possibilities for our work and future.

Daedeok Youth Bunker runs diverse cultural and creative programs to help youth freely explore their interests and discover new possibilities through those experiences.

Born from this vision, 「DeokUpIlGi(記)」 is a local branding project for youth in Daedeok-gu. Designed to discover and nurture youth creators, the initiative encourages youth living in Daejeon to document their interests and everyday experiences, building a foundation for these experiences to expand into creative work, career pathways, and new forms of work.

Its first record, 「DeokUpIlHwa(畵)」, captures the everyday moments and experiences of living in Daedeok-gu through each participant’s own stories and pictures. Participants reflected on memorable places and moments in Daedeok-gu, expressing their feelings and experiences in their own words and drawings.

Coming from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, participants used pictures to express feelings and experiences that were difficult to put into words. By sharing their stories, they had the opportunity to get to know one another. In this way, their stories came together in a single picture book, each retaining its own unique perspective.

「DeokUpIlHwa(畵)」 brings together the memories and stories of youth living their own everyday lives in Daedeok-gu. As you turn these pages, we hope you encounter their stories and come to see the place we live in a little more closely.
