「DeokUpIlHwa(畵)」 is the first record of the 2026 Daedeok Youth Content Discovery Initiative, DeokUpIlGi (記). It is a creative project that goes beyond differences in language and culture, using pictures and stories to document the diverse everyday lives of youth living in Daedeok-gu.
Through pictures, participants freely expressed experiences and emotions that were difficult to put into words. Participants from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds shared their stories and took time to understand one another. In particular, reflecting on their lives and experiences in Daedeok-gu, they captured the places, moments, memories, and stories that held personal meaning for them through pictures and writing.
Each person’s story was captured in a single picture book, with each story retaining its own unique character. As the stories of youth from different linguistic backgrounds and with different experiences were brought together into a single volume, the project sought to discover how their everyday lives and stories connect with one another in Daedeok-gu.
